FINDING PROPERTIES OF SOLIDS

Materials: Test tube, water, marble, metal cubes and dice

Hypothesis: The metal cubes will have the most volume because they are heavier

Explanation of the experiment: In this experiment we filled the test tube up to 50 ml and then we dropped one of the 4 object and we saw how much the water elevated.

Procedure: First, we measured in a test tube water until 50 cm, then one by one, we measured the mass of each object using a scale, and finally we dropped one object into the test tube and we saw how much it elevated the water. If for example the water elevated until 56ml, then the volume of that object is 6cm3

Conclusions: The marble had the less volume because its mass was less than the metal cube

We thought the metal cubes will have more volume than 6cm3 but it turned out they didn't
